Earth Heart has a long-standing reputation for providing high quality wellness products using pure essential oils and other plant-based ingredients to help dogs live a happier, healthier life.
Est: 1996
Vicki Rae Thorne, founder of Earth Heart helps others learn how to use herbs and aromatherapy as an integral part of everyday health. She is a member of the Alliance of International Aromatherapists and the American Herbalist Guild. Products are developed according to customer need and their impact on the whole family…including pets! Vicki told me about last year when there was an outbreak of H1N1. One of her family members brought it home from school. By using Guard Well, he recovered faster and none of her other family members got sick.
Guard Well: An all-natural mist helps to relieve itching, swelling, skin problems, and other illnesses caused by environmental irritants. Contains oils from niaouli, ravensare, and frankincense.
Earth Heart sent me a bottle of Guard Well for us to try. It could not have came at a better time. We had about a week of warmer, spring-like weather here in Wyoming. I was loving that! We could actually spend some time outside without 20 layers of clothing.
However, when the weather warms up, the pesky irritants awaken and start causing havoc. Dogs are especially susceptible to exposure to things that lurk in the lawn, like fertilizing chemicals, for instance. They pick up all sorts of itchies and one can tell. Scratch. Scratch. Scratch.
Yes, bathing is a good answer but are we going to bathe our dogs each time they come in from outdoors? Not this Grandma.
Guard Well is designed to soothe and relieve skin problems.
With my dogs, I did notice that Kona (the smaller dog) was biting around her belly area. (you know, the itch you can't reach)
She had just had a bath about a week ago but with the warmer weather she had been outdoors a lot more.
I used the Guard Well as recommended and it seemed to work. She enjoyed the attention and the relief from itching.
NOTE: By the time Cubby (husband) figured out the camera, Kona had about enough aromatherapy for one evening. She sure did sleep well after all that. She sleeps with us and I didn't feel her scratching at all during the night.
Lyla (our larger dog) is afraid of her own shadow. She is very timid. She didn't like when I misted the Guard well so I misted the dog brush for her and she really enjoyed the brushing.
Today, after their massages last evening, they are lying right beside me as I type this and neither one has scratched a bit. It's pretty amazing.
The scent is like a very mild Vics Vapor Rub. That is what it smells like to me. It's not unpleasant. In fact, I like it.
This is the truth and nothing but the truth: Guard Well soothed MY itching. I take a two prescribed medications daily. One of the side effects of one is that it can cause skin irritability. It dang sure does. It hits me around my upper back area. I have scratched that area so hard at times, it has bled. I kid you not.
The itching comes and goes. It was raising heck this morning. Ohhh, driving me nuts. I saw the bottle of Guard Well and figured, "why not?" I misted some on my hand and reached around and rubbed it on my back. Ahhhhh, it felt cool and soothing. The itching subsided immediately. It has been two hours since I rubbed some on my back and I am not itching at all.
I think Guard Well world work on sunburns. (just a thought, after how cool it felt on my irritated back)
Something else I noticed about this product is that the medicinal Vicks-type odor is apparent when you first apply Guard Well, then it fades rather quickly.
Made me a believer, by golly. I highly suggest you try Earth Heart's products.
Speaking of which, the new release of Earth Heart's insect repellent will be coming this Spring! If it works anything like this amazing product, I'll be the first in line!
Earth Heart carries a calming mist called Canine Calm, and a product to ease nervousness during travel called Travel Calm
All the products are safe around kids!
Just in time for Spring! Keep you and your dog's guard up against exposure to lawn or pool chemicals, pollens and other irritants, viruses, bacteria or long-term use of medications. Guard Well can be purchased in these locations or visit Earth Heart Online.

GFC follower as lewalk. I learned that they have Travel Calm and the website says that it 'Helps quiet the restlessness and tummy upset experienced by some dogs during travel...it's the road-ready version of Canine Calm with ginger added for the tummy.' This is for sure something I am going to look into for my lab, Beau. My pit and rat terrier sit quietly in the passenger seat when they have to ride in the car but my lab, Beau, does not. He barks the whole way to our destination and the whole way back, every single time. He also poops in the car every time even if he has just gone at home. Ugh. It's weird cause he is the most well behaved dog at home. He has been like this in the car since day one though. I am going to look into getting some of this Travel Calm and see if it makes a difference. Thank you for having another great dog giveaway. I absolutely love you for that. I would love to win this mostly for my mom's terrier, Roxy. Bless her heart, she scratches non stop.
